Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! This is a promo piece that I am going to send out. I initially did this as a straight ink wash, but went nuts with color combos in Photoshop. I've always been fascinated by cephalopods so this only seemed fitting to me. Happy 2013!!

It's A Wonderful Mash

I did a bunch of artwork for a cd cover for Bob Cronin called SANTASTIC 7, which are a load of Christmas mash-up songs. I am happy with the one he chose, as I misread the title at first and thought it was SATANIC 7. He wanted to use It's A Wonderful Life imagery, so I naturally drew Jimmy Stewart as the devil. Then I realized my mistake and did some straight up portraits. Here's a couple of links to his site if you want to check out the playlist!   Santastic 7  or   The ENTIRE collection

Skyfall

Lots of eye candy to literally draw from in the movie Skyfall. Daniel Craig is a great Bond, and Javier Bardem is a wonderful villain. Cufflinks never looked so good.

I took a bunch of black and white drawings of turkeys and added some color to 'em. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you veterans!

I drew these illustrations to go along with an op-ed article called "Troubled Minds and Purple Hearts." It was about the decision that the Pentagon made in 2009 not to award veterans the Purple Heart suffering from P.T.S.D. I personally believe every veteran deserves a medal for their heart & courage.

WFMU Record fair cancelled!

Sadly, because of Hurricane Sandy, the WFMU record fair has been cancelled. And since all the work I did for them will not be seen, I'll be posting more of it on here.

Paperboy portraits

It's funny how the group of portraits I did of Actors Who Should STOP Acting is always changing. Case in point, the movie The Paperboy. I saw that movie earlier this week and was really amazed by John Cusak, Nicole Kidman and Matthew McConaughey. Who'd a thunk it a coupla years back? Maybe for me the changing point is seeing them play someone completely skeezy that makes me have new respect for them? Next movie for me to see is Looper.

I've been busy toiling away, creating illustrations and layouts for  THE WFMU RECORD FAIR. Below are some of the web banners, the official postcard and miscellaneous art that goes to some behind the scenes signage. Be sure to check out all the stuff for sale, as well as live bands and movies!
